Rigid Secondary Absorbent Packaging: Thermacor
Absorbent packaging
The Thermacor specimen transport product range is an absorbent packaging solution made up of a variety of patented thermoformed clamshells, of various dimensions. All boast a super absorbent lined mould which secures primary UN3373 sample containers during transit.
Designed to be easily unpacked and re-packed dependant on the sample transportation journey, the Thermacor simplifies the end-user experience and leads to an improvement in sample quality when returned to the laboratory.
Streamlining secondary packaging components
The UN3373 specifications require a secondary packaging approach which safeguards the primary receptacle.
The Thermacor encloses primary containers that are typical for screening and monitoring processes in the diagnostic and healthcare arenas, through a pre-existing vial mould. The Thermacor is suitable for a range of primary receptacles, including glass tubes.
Combining absorbency specifications with 95kPa requirements
Compatible with a vast range of tube and vial dimensions, this rigid secondary shell not only protects the primary receptacle but also combines the benefits of an absorbent pouch without the requirement for additional components.
The rigid leakproof clamshell has a SAP absorbent layer ensuring that that any leakage from the tube is contained within the packaging, the addition of the absorbent aids in securing vials or tubes in place to offer high protection against transportation impacts whilst improving overall packaging efficiency.
Intuitive absorbent packaging purposefully designed
Thermacor specimen transporters are not only simple to use, but they’re intuitive to both the receptor and the distributor. For markets where vials and tubes are transported regularly, this specimen transport product can transform the entire pre-transit packaging process.
Designed to hold an assortment of primary containers, ranging from single blood vials to multiple sample containers, the Thermacor absorbent packaging not only offers complete protection against damage and leaks, but adheres to regulatory compliance whilst also simplifying the logistics of transportation.
